Max Eberl Extends Contract with Bayern: A Lifelong Connection

Max Eberl has never really left Bayern. Not in his head, not in his heart. Now his contract extension has nailed that bond down for the next chapter of the club’s modern era.

The sporting chief, who once came through the Bayern youth system as a player, framed the new deal as more than a professional agreement. For him, it is a continuation of a lifelong connection.

“Bayern has been close to my heart ever since my time in the youth ranks,” Eberl said, as the extension was confirmed. “Like my fellow board members, I therefore want to continue on the path we have embarked on and, in the interests of the entire Bayern family, continue to do everything I can to achieve sporting success.”

Eberl pointed to the faith shown in him by the club’s hierarchy as a key driver. “The trust shown in me by the supervisory board is a valuable vote of confidence, and one that I am very pleased about,” he added. Trust, at Bayern, comes with expectation. Staying still is never an option.

Jan-Christian Dreesen struck a similar tone. The CEO underlined that the extension is not a moment for comfort, but for renewed drive.

“First of all, I would like to thank the supervisory board for their trust,” Dreesen said. “I am delighted to be continuing my work at Bayern with energy and passion.”

Then came the core of his message: ambition. “As the executive board, together with our staff, members and fans, we intend to do everything in our power to ensure Bayern remains the top club of which we are all so proud. That is what drives us – and we still have a lot more to achieve.”

The words fit the club’s identity. Bayern see themselves not just as Germany’s benchmark, but as a permanent contender at the very top of European football. With Eberl and Dreesen tied in, the responsibility is clear: keep Bayern where Bayern believe they belong – and push the ceiling even higher.
