Loïs Openda is on the move again. After just one season in Turin, the Belgian forward is poised to swap Juventus for Olympique Lyonnais, with multiple outlets confirming a deal that quietly suits all parties involved.

A Clean Loan, No Strings Attached

Sky, Fabrizio Romano and several other sources report that Openda will join Lyon on a straight loan for the 2026-27 season. No option to buy. No obligation. Just a one-year shot for Paulo Fonseca to plug a proven attacking weapon into his system.

Lyon are expected to pay around €3m for the privilege, a significant outlay for a temporary deal but a clear signal of intent. Fonseca, the former Milan head coach, wants pace, depth and a direct threat in behind. Openda offers all three.

From Juventus’ perspective, this is a reset. Openda arrived in Turin with high expectations, but after one campaign in Serie A, both player and club are ready for a different route.
