The Parma goalkeeper has turned himself into one of the most coveted stoppers in Europe. There is, however, a major obstacle.

Vicario pushed toward the exit

On the other side of the continent, Vicario’s time in North London is unravelling. Once trusted, now sidelined, the Italian has been left out of Roberto De Zerbi’s pre-season squad at Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are ready to move him on if a suitable offer arrives.

The Crusaders have pinned a €30 million price tag on the 23-year-old. That figure instantly narrows the field of genuine contenders. It has not scared everyone.

Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning European champions, have also turned their attention to Suzuki. With their financial muscle, they can meet Parma’s demands without blinking. If it becomes a straight auction, Juventus know exactly where they stand.

The risk is obvious. A bidding war with PSG is a battle they are unlikely to win. That reality drags Vicario back into sharp focus, a proven Serie A goalkeeper who is eager to come home three years after leaving Empoli for England’s capital.
