Ilyas Ansah Joins Hull City from Union Berlin for Premier League Dream

Hull City have rolled the dice on one of the Bundesliga’s brightest young forwards, sealing a deal for Union Berlin attacker Ilyas Ansah as the 21-year-old chases a new dream in the Premier League.

Ansah arrives with real mileage in his legs for his age. He featured in all but one of Union Berlin’s matches last season, chipping in with five goals and three assists across the campaign. Not eye-watering numbers, but the kind that hint at a player on the rise rather than the finished article.

He has already worn Germany’s colours at youth level, representing both the under-20s and under-21s, and now steps into a league he has openly longed to play in.

“I’m very excited. It’s a dream come true for me to play in the Premier League, and for such a big club – it’s really an honour for me,” Ansah told the club after signing, laying out exactly what this move means to him.

“I have heard a lot about the club, the players and the team, and I’m excited to play with the boys and to get to know them.

“I’m a very flexible player. I can play almost anywhere up front – on the left side, on the right side, maybe as a 10. I’m definitely a player who always gives his best and leaves it all on the pitch,” he said, before outlining exactly what he intends to bring to English football.

“Taking my man on, beating players, shooting on target and scoring goals – that’s my main goal I want to reach at this club.”

Hull have started fast, with two wins from two setting an unexpectedly sharp tone for the season. Ansah knows he is walking into a dressing room already moving at full speed.

“It’s been a really exciting start to the season – two wins out of two games. Now, it’s time for me to get into the team and be a part of what they are already achieving.”
