Hull City signs Everton midfielder Iroegbunam for £22m

Hull City have launched a late-window statement, agreeing a £22m package to sign Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in a move that underlines their frantic push before Tuesday night’s deadline.

The 23-year-old is set to leave Hill Dickinson Stadium for an initial £13m, with a further £9m tied up in achievable add-ons. Everton have granted permission for the midfielder to travel to East Yorkshire and complete his medical, clearing the way for one of the Championship club’s most expensive signings.

Iroegbunam only arrived at Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 for £9m. A year on, he is on the brink of becoming Hull’s 13th signing of a breathless summer, a recruitment drive that still isn’t finished. Talks are ongoing over a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo as the club tries to arm itself for a serious tilt at promotion.

For Everton, it is part of a wider reshaping of the squad under intense time pressure. And the Merseyside club are at the centre of another heavyweight deal.

Man City close in on £65m Ndiaye move

Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £65m to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, a move that drags one of the window’s longest-running sagas towards a conclusion.

The agreement for the Senegal winger stands at £60m up front with a further £5m in add-ons. Ndiaye, 26, had looked Tottenham-bound as recently as Friday night, when Spurs struck terms with Everton on a fee and explored a separate move that would have sent Richarlison back to Goodison Park.

That plan collapsed. Richarlison failed to agree personal terms with his former club, despite Everton being understood to have tabled a £35m offer for the Brazil forward. With no breakthrough, Tottenham were unable to push ahead with their Ndiaye deal.

City moved into the gap. Now, barring late drama, Pep Guardiola is set to add another attacking option to a squad already brimming with firepower.

Deadline day clock ticking

All of this unfolds against the familiar race against the clock. The summer transfer window for Premier League and EFL clubs shuts at 23:00 BST on Tuesday.

The window, which opened for a second time this year on Monday, 15 June, is bound by Fifa rules that prevent any registration period from exceeding 16 weeks in a calendar year. Last season, England’s deadline was brought forward to 19:00 to align with the working day. This year it returns to the traditional 23:00 finish, guaranteeing another late-night scramble.

Across Europe, the timings are staggered. Spain, France and Italy also close on Tuesday, but earlier in the evening, while the Bundesliga shuts its doors at 19:00. Clubs in Scotland, along with those in the Women’s Super League, have a little longer; their window remains open until 17:00 on Thursday, 3 September.

Everton’s Aznou heads to Malaga

One Everton player already on the move is Adam Aznou. The left-back has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan for the 2026-27 season.

The 20-year-old, a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, arrived at Goodison Park from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025. His first campaign in England brought only two senior outings – one in the FA Cup and one in the Carabao Cup – and the club have opted to send him back to Spain in search of regular minutes.

Aznou spent three years at Barcelona before switching to Munich in 2023. Malaga now becomes the next stop in a career that has already taken him through three of Europe’s most recognisable footballing schools.

Hutchinson swaps Forest for AC Milan loan

On the continent, AC Milan have moved to secure Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

The seven-time European champions hold an option to make the forward’s stay at San Siro permanent next summer, a potentially significant decision for both club and player. Hutchinson only joined Forest 12 months ago in a £37.5m move from Ipswich Town.

His first year at the City Ground was turbulent. Four different managers came and went, and Hutchinson managed just 17 Premier League starts in that chaos. Milan now offer a different kind of stage, and possibly a fresh start.

Man City add Allan from Palmeiras

While City close in on Ndiaye, they have already sealed another attacking addition. The champions have completed the signing of winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m.

City will pay £32m initially, with a further £2.2m in add-ons, and have tied the 22-year-old Brazilian to a five-year contract. A right-sided winger, Allan arrives as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who left for Tottenham Hotspur in a £75m move last week.

Allan comes to England after 96 senior appearances for Palmeiras, in which he scored nine goals and supplied 12 assists across all competitions, having risen through the Brazilian club’s academy. Now he steps into one of the most demanding attacking setups in Europe.

Forest land Munoz in £22m deal

Nottingham Forest, busy on both incomings and outgoings, have completed the £22m signing of Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace.

The Colombia right-back reunites with Oliver Glasner at the City Ground after the pair lifted both the FA Cup and the Europa Conference League together at Selhurst Park. Munoz has signed a three-year deal following two and a half years at Palace, where he scored 11 goals in 109 appearances – a notable return for a full-back.

He follows the £50m club-record arrival of Liam Delap and could be thrown straight into action against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday. Forest’s defence, reshaped and re-energised, will be judged quickly.
