Burton Albion Signs Caylan Vickers from Brighton

Burton Albion have dipped into the Premier League market to land winger Caylan Vickers from Brighton, sealing a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract at the Pirelli Stadium, with the Brewers holding an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Vickers arrives with solid League One know-how already on his CV. Last season he took in loan spells at Barnsley and Wigan Athletic, learning the division’s demands while getting regular senior football under his belt.

A product of Reading’s academy, Vickers earned his move to Brighton on the back of his promise but never broke into the Seagulls’ first team, finding his pathway blocked in a stacked Premier League squad. Burton now offer him a clearer runway.

"He's an attacking player who will excite our supporters whilst adding goals and assists to the team," Bowyer said. "Having played at this level already, he arrives ready to contribute and we look forward to seeing how he continues to develop with us."

Burton face AFC Wimbledon at home on Wednesday evening. Vickers joins in time to sharpen the attacking edge of a side looking to turn the Pirelli into a difficult stop for any visitor.
