Al-Qadisiyah Prepares for AFC Champions League with New Stadium

Al-Qadisiyah supporters woke up on 19 August to find the club moving with the kind of intent that turns heads across a continent.

The headline news was clear enough: Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has arrived from Manchester City, a statement signing for a team about to step onto the AFC Champions League Elite stage for the first time in its history. But the new recruit was only half the story.

A new home taking shape

Saudi daily “Al-Riyadiyah” revealed that Aramco Stadium, the club’s new home, is close to completion and nearly ready to host matches. The playing surface has already been transported and installed, using the latest specialised technologies associated with top-tier international arenas.

The pitch is not just laid; it is engineered. It comes equipped with an integrated system to draw off rainwater, accelerate drainage and limit any disruption during games. For a club with continental ambitions, there will be no excuses underfoot.

Around it rises a venue built on scale and comfort. Aramco Stadium will hold roughly 47,000 spectators across all categories, backed by advanced hospitality areas and digital services designed to smooth every step of a matchday visit.

Built for the modern fan

Access has been carefully planned. Fifteen internal gates feed into the stands, supported by smart crowd-management systems and advanced solutions to control the flow of supporters and cut congestion before and after events.

Inside, technology borrowed from leading European stadiums underpins the experience. Ventilation links directly to a powerful air-conditioning network with a cooling capacity of 22,500 tonnes, designed to reach every corner of the ground.

During the design phase, engineers used advanced simulation tools to fine-tune airflow throughout the bowl, calibrating it to deliver maximum comfort and efficiency even when conditions outside turn harsh.
