Al-Ittihad Pursues Hakim Ziyech Amid Wydad Crisis

Al-Ittihad have made their move for Hakim Ziyech, stepping into the storm that now surrounds the Moroccan star and his club Wydad.

According to “Africa Foot”, the Libyan side have put a substantial financial offer on the table in an attempt to lure Ziyech away. The proposal is described as attractive, and Al-Ittihad are said to be ready to act fast if they get any encouragement from the player’s camp.

Nothing is agreed. Not yet.

Ziyech’s contractual situation with Wydad remains unresolved, with negotiations dragging on and no breakthrough in sight. What began as tension has now grown into a full-blown crisis.

The relationship between player and club has deteriorated sharply in recent weeks, driven by financial, sporting and disciplinary disagreements. Several meetings between Ziyech and Wydad officials have failed to close the gap between their positions, leaving both sides entrenched.

Then came the breaking point.

Ziyech took to social media to publicly accuse Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri of lying, a move that pushed the dispute into the open and intensified the pressure on the club’s hierarchy.

Wydad are keen to put an end to the saga and move on. Ziyech is not backing down. He is insisting on what he believes he is owed and, according to the same source, is prepared to take his case to FIFA if no settlement is reached.

Al-Ittihad are watching all of this closely. If Wydad cannot defuse the situation, the Libyan club are ready to pounce.
